Our Challenge
We received a request from a client and was tasked with the critical job of stripping and re-coating a large industrial centrifuge, which had been returned to our customer for an urgent modification and overhaul. Our task was clear: deliver a rapid turnaround service, completing the task within just 5 days while aligning with the customer's schedule. The utmost priority was to minimise production downtime. THE SOLUTION
Upon receiving the centrifuge, our team meticulously disassembled its components, subjecting them to our pyrolysis oven. In this controlled environment, the old Anti-Static Halar ECTFE coating was expertly removed. Following this, the parts underwent a thorough inspection, cleaning, and grit blasting process to meet SA 3 standards. They were then jigged up, poised for the precise application of the new Halar ECTFE coating.
Over the subsequent two days, our dedicated coatings team applied the new anti-static Halar ECTFE coating. Each coated component underwent meticulous visual inspections, thickness checks, and the final spark test (pin hole detector). THE RESULT
Our rapid response not only met but exceeded expectations. By enabling the swift re-installation and commissioning of the centrifuge, we allowed our customer to outpace their initial schedule, ensuring that the end customer could meet their production targets seamlessly. This outcome stands as a testament to the seamless collaboration between our team and our valued customer, resulting in a satisfying conclusion for all parties involved.
