Modified PTFE or TFM, is a high-density copolymerized material. It has low gas permeation and reduces cold flow. Often used in the medical field as an artificial blood vessel graft and in other applications where biocompatibility is required. TFM is also FDA and USP class VI suitable.

TFM remains a largely unfamiliar material in the general PTFE machine parts and seal markets. At AFT, we have pioneered the use of Dyneon TFM in both its virgin and compounded forms due to the exceptional physical properties it offers.
AFT has converted hundreds of traditional PTFE customers to a TFM-based solution offering huge performance improvements, service life and less downtime.

TFM PROPERTIES
Modified PTFE offers many advantages over PTFE. Lower deformation under load, better fatigue performance, easier to weld, better transparency, higher elongation and higher dielectric strength. Modified PTFE, like PTFE, has excellent chemical resistance and a very low coefficient of friction.

TFM APPLICATIONS
If an application requires a temperature or chemical resistance sealant that alternatives cannot meet, then a fluoropolymer based solution is the best option. Such applications can be found across many different markets, from aerospace, to oil and gas to semiconductors and beyond.
SealsAs TFM Modified PTFE offers the same excellent chemical resistance and thermal stability as Standard PTFE, whilst delivering improved weldability, lower deformation under load and lower permeability, it is often used in sealing solutions.
