Nylon is not a high-temperature material, quite the opposite. AFT Fluorotec has a history in Nylon seat inserts that date back to our very inception. Valve manufacturers found that whilst PTFE had many properties that made it exceptional for use within valves, it was expensive and lacked the compressive strength and creep resistance to withstand certain environments.
Nylon offered many solutions but its appetite to swell due to moisture absorption is often a restricting factor. However, through material development, we have a range of materials that surpass all expectations in valve applications and eliminate the normal moisture issues.
