Acetal, the common name for PolyOxyMethylene (POM) is available in a range of colours. This semi-crystalline, engineered thermoplastic offers high mechanical strength and rigidity, as well as good sliding characteristics and outstanding wear resistance.
Acetal comes in 2 different chemical compositions; copolymer and homopolymer Acetal -C and Acetal H. Many people don't realise that both exist and that only Homopolymers are similar to Delrin. Homopolymers also have higher crystallinity levels and better short term mechanical properties (stiffness, tensile strength, impact resistance and initial creep resistance). Copolymer grades have better oxidation resistance and exhibit better resistance to creep.
